Sneezing

Sneezing is a sudden and involuntary violent expiration preceded by inspiration. During sneezing, the mouth generally remains closed, so that the current of air is directed through the nose.
Causes
Sneezing normally occurs due to some irritation in the mucous membrane of the noses or the paranasal sinuses. It is commonly due to some allergic substances which may be eaten or inhaled. A cold draft of air or a cold humid weather precipitates sneezing. Dust, chemicals, smoke, pollen in the air can trigger sneezing. Eating certain food stuffs like ice-cream, cold drinks, banana, curd can induce sneezing attacks.
Herbal Medicines
Take 2 drops of Badam Rogan (Hamdard) on palm, rub it and put it in both the nostrils and take a deep breath. It is very good in controlling sneezing.
Take 1 teaspoon of besan (gram flour), roast it with 1 teaspoon of pure ghee. Add a cup of milk and 4-5 badams. Boil it for 2-3 minutes. It should be taken at bed time. Water should not be taken after it.
Ayurvedic Remedies
1. Luxmi Vilas Ras (Nardia) is the drug of choice. 1 tab. three times a day.
Tab. Septilin (Himalaya Drugs Co.) 1-2 tab. 2-3 times a day.
Do's & Don'ts
Patients should be kept warm.
Avoid direct heat or cold.
Patient should consume a lot of water and liquids.
Shirodhara is very effective in sneezing.
