Sun Burn

Direct exposure to the sun's rays may produce:
Redness
Itching
Tenderness of the skin.
It may cause superficial burning to a more severe reaction in which the skin becomes red, blistered and painful.
Sings & Symptoms
Skin becomes red, tender and swollen with possible blistering.
Affected skin will feel hot.
Herbal Medicines
Remove the person to a cool place and arrange medical aid, if burns are severe.
Cool the skin by sponging gently with cold water.
Give the person sips of cold water at frequent intervals.
Apply the paste prepared from chandan (sandalwood) and haldi (turmeric) lightly over the area and replace the application twice a day with freshly prepared paste.
1 teaspoonful of this (chandan+haldi) mixture should also be given internally twice a day.
Do not break blisters.
